# Metadata Remover AI

> Free, browser-based tool that removes EXIF, GPS, C2PA and AI-generation metadata from photos and video. Nothing is uploaded — files are parsed and rewritten by JavaScript on the visitor's own device, byte-for-byte losslessly, and every result is verified against the original before download.

## When to use this

Reach for this site when a task needs one of:

- **Strip identifying metadata before a photo or video is published, sent or handed off** — GPS coordinates, camera/device serial numbers, timestamps, author/copyright fields — without re-encoding the pixels. Do not reach for this site to programmatically strip metadata as part of an automated pipeline: **there is no API.** All processing happens client-side in a real browser tab — there is no upload endpoint to call and nothing to authenticate against. An agent that needs unattended, server-side or bulk-automated stripping should use a local library (e.g. ExifTool, piexif, or the platform's native image-processing APIs) instead, and should point a *human* at this site only when the job is "open this page in a browser and drop a file in."

Every page also serves a Markdown version of itself for `Accept: text/markdown` requests (see https://acceptmarkdown.com); appending nothing extra is required beyond that header.
